There are MANY reasons to read labels on packaged foods… but one that I often forget to mention is about servings. At the top of the Nutrition Facts label, there will be two lines that you need to pay attention to… “Serving size” and “Servings Per Container.
It’s important to realize that often times even foods that seem to be packaged for a single serving are often NOT so. I just went to the cabinet at my work and grabbed a Skippy Peanut Butter jar to explain my point a little better.
The serving size is 2 Tablespoons and there are 35 servings per container. What’s important to note about this, is that the “Calories” are per serving, not per container. I know this is an extreme example.. but let’s put it into perspective. If you buy a bag of chips, just because the Calories on the bag say “130” does not mean the ENTIRE bag is 130 calories… it means the SERVING SIZE is 130 calories. So if the “Servings per container” says 3.5, that means the ENTIRE bag is actually 455 calories.
Many people don’t pay attention to these little details and think they’re eating a lot less than they really are. Make sure to READ LABELS when purchasing packaged foods so you know what you’re buying. (Not that you should be buying chips anyways haha).
If you find you’re not losing weight, there is usually a reason and that reason is typically diet-related. Pay attention to all aspects of nutrition.. serving sizes are important! Just because a food is healthy doesn’t mean you can’t over-eat it!

Have a glass of water in the morning after waking up.
Why? Drinking water will help us keep hydrated. After sleeping for several hours, your body hasn’t received any intake of water. Water is essential for good health and drinking water first thing in the morning will help jumpstart your day.

This is my glute update HAHA
Leaving for the gym soon to train it! I tried for a long time to change the shape and size of my butt… Pilates, leg lifts.. those silly “butt toning” exercises you see in women’s magazines. The ONLY thing that changed the size and shape of this derrière was barbell squats, stiff-leg deadlifts, weighted lunges, leg presses and other weight-bearing exercise. Thanks to BODYBUILDING workouts, it is finally becoming something I’m PROUD of instead of embarrassed by.
The thing is definitely growing (as my mom and dad have both assured me). For the first time, I’m actually PROUD of it. I used to have a small pancake butt (my mom affectionately referred to it as a “teacup butt”… as in it could fit in a teacup) -__- Well, let’s just say she no longer refers to it as such! ;)

visualization is a powerful thing. there was even a study that when people thought about how they were slimming their thighs and burning fat when they were on the treadmill, they burned more calories and fat overall than people who didn’t!
